'On' in London
Following the success of its business in the North of England, business Internet Service Provider On-Communications today switches on its new high speed, business to business, wireless broadband service in central London.
On-Communications Chief Executive, Ian Roberts said 'Our UK rollout plans continue to progress assuredly, and, slightly earlier than planned, we are extending our service coverage map to include central London, for the benefit of businesses and entrepreneurs in the capital.
This is the first stage of a significant network deployment by On-Communications in London that will take place over 2007/8. Our initial coverage begins at the seat of power in Westminster extends east to London. Opening for business in the capital will underpin our position as the UK's leading provider of B2B Wireless Data Connectivity in the UK'.
On-Communications is enabling the 'Business Web', providing businesses with ultra-fast Internet connectivity speeds of up to 1G/bps in both directions as required, and high level service guarantees, both critical factors as more and more enterprises move their operations on line.
The service can be used as a cost effective primary Internet connection, or as a back up for critical data connectivity, particularly vital in London given it is a prime target for attack.
Almost uniquely in the ISP world, On-Communications doesn't touch the BT network in any way. As a result our On-Net service can cut the cost of expensive secondary Internet connections from BT by as much as 85%, for the first time making data resiliency an affordable service for most businesses, not just larger corporations.
This independence also means that the usual lead time for delivery of On-Communications' service is significantly less than BT's usual thirty working days in central London.
